Bracketology 101 |
WARNING: The following contains information that may not be suitable for anyone with interests outside the realm of competitive sports. In other words, if you're not a sports super-geek, proceed only with extreme caution. Bracketology (or even a vague understanding of it) is NOT a prerequisite for full participation in the Bunganello Olympiad.
Each of these brackets will run like a standard double-elimination tournament, with the winners of the two brackets squaring off in a best-of-three series as part of the Championship Round. The last two participants to be knocked out in each bracket will play in a 5th place match and a 3rd place match to complete the Championship Round.
As shown above, "Championship Points" will be awarded to each of the 6
participants to reach the Championship Round in the following manner:
The Nation that accumulates the most Championship Points through both the tournaments and the Four-Square heats will be crowned Bunganello Olympic Champions. The Olympian who acquires the highest point total after all events will be awarded the gold medal as the overall Olympic Champion.
